Robert "Bob" Van Natter Obituary

Bob was born on November 27, 1946 in Elk Point, Alberta to Verl and Alma Van Natter. He was the eldest of 5 children. He grew up in Northern Alberta.

God graciously saved him at the young age of 4 and he served his Savior faithfully for the rest of his life.

Bob met the love of his life, Deanna while they were only teenagers. They married May 7, 1966.  They had 3 children, Sandee, Bob, &   Karyne.  They raised their family in various locations within AB, SK & BC. Bob has been blessed with 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Bob spent his early years working in a variety of occupations but responded to the call of God on his life to be in full time ministry with Canadian Sunday School Mission in 1984.

Bob had a heart for helping anyone in need.  If you needed a hand with anything Bob would drop everything to do what he could. He always put the needs of others ahead of his own.

He loved playing games (and winning!). He enjoyed camping as often as possible with family and friends. His family benefited from the many deep discussions that helped form the foundations of their faith. He enjoyed a good meal with family and friends and it was even better if it ended with ice cream. Bob also had a great appreciation for music.

Bob was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2004 and slowly deteriorated over the years until his death on December 1, 2021.  He is now in the presence of Christ, fully alive, rejoicing and waiting for his loved ones to join him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Deanna (nee Sundby), his children, Sandee (Don), Bob (Rae-Anne) and Karyne, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Ashlee (Josh, Kaiden, Eliza, Lewis & Fynlee), Jessalyn (Andrew & Oliver), Emilee, Sam (Tracy, Tanev,  Kylar, Larkin & Hayes), Halla (Jayden), Nate, Jakob and     Gabriel. As well as his siblings Shirlea (Leroy), Tim (Janet), Ted (Jeanne) and Esther (Wes) along with many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his father Verl, his mother Alma and his nephew Darcy.
