Passed away suddenly in his home in Ashcroft, British Columbia at the age of 72.

Richard was the eighth child born in Orillia, Ontario to parents James George Faris and Doris Elizabeth (Joslin) who have predeceased him. Brother to eleven siblings: Beverly Skelding, Rennie Faris (predeceased), Joyce Nicoll (predeceased), Rodney Faris, Raymond Faris (predeceased), Terry Faris, Penny-Lou Treganza, Laurie Faris, Stuart Faris, Tammy Whitney and Kimberley Cleaveley. Uncle and great uncle to many, many nieces, and nephews.

Richard made BC his home for at least the last ten years and developed friendships along the way. Special mention goes out to Jennifer Buis and Darren Beeds from Cache Creek, BC.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a private family burial when Richard makes it home to his final resting place in Marchmont Cemetery, Orillia, Ontario.
