Priscilla Elizabeth Walker (Liz) passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at her home at the age of 78 due to complications relating to Pancreatic & Liver cancer, which she courageously endured over the past 25 years, without complaint. She was born December 10, 1939 in Princeton, B.C. Liz is survived by her son, Kenneth Lee Walker of Marshall Lake, and daughter, Lori Paige Walker of Pleasanton, CA, her brother Mort Erskine of Princeton, B.C. and sister, Maureen Fox of LaQuinta, CA. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth, who passed away April 26, 2000.
Liz was born and raised in Princeton, B.C. moving to Vancouver, B.C. after her marriage to Kenneth Walker from Copper Mountain. They were blessed with two children: Kenneth Lee, and Lori Paige. Primarily Liz worked as an Executive Asst. starting with the Surrey School District, Whitepass Yukon Railway while living briefly in the Yukon, and, finally, retiring from Atlas Wines in Burnaby, B.C. She was an exemplary employee working long after quitting time.
Moving to Marshall Lake was Liz’s perfect habitat – she created her very own Shangri-La: stress-free, gardening, fishing with Bella, her Border Collie, entertaining neighbors sharing her latest recipes, and welcoming family and friends to stay awhile. Liz was a devoted mother and supportive sister. Her gentle nature, patience, and her ability to perform any task with a take-charge attitude motivated us to keep up. She exuded a positive outlook on life, filled with loving kindness, amazing grace, and one couldn’t help but be drawn to her easy-to-laugh demeanor. The way in which she faced life and major health challenges was truly remarkable and impressive. WE LOVED HER BEYOND MEASURE AND SHE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY HER FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND ALL WHO EVER HAD THE PLEASURE OF HER COMPANY.
A Service will not be held at this time. Kenny & Paige will continue Liz’s tradition of hosting a Canada Day Celebration for lake residents – a Celebration of Life will take place at that time.
