(Lois) Marlene Allen Obituary

Allen, (Lois) Marlene

November 20, 1942 ~ April 18, 2019

We lost our beautiful mama Marlene Allen on Apr 18, 2019.  She is already so very missed by everyone that knew her.  She fought a hard and long fight with cancer, but she fought it with dignity.  She never complained and she never gave up.  What a spirit this woman had.  Everyone that knew her, that REALLY knew her, is going to miss her tremendously!

She is pre-deceased by our Dad Clarke Allen.  They lived at Spintlum Lodge in Lytton for the past 8 years and were cared for and cared about so completely.  Our Mom is also predeceased by her mom Lenore Gauthier, her brothers Bob (Sally) and Norm Lamont (Beth) and her grandson Kaiden.  She is survived by siblings Ron (Pat) and Shirley (Rick), and children Kim Littlewood (Vaughn), Tony Allen, Shawn Stephens (Rick) and Rhonda Brett (Kevin) and grandchildren Dean, Miranda, Alex, Michael, Allan, Trent, Tiffany and great-grandchildren Zoey, and Cilaina and many nieces and nephews.

Mom and Dad settled into the rural lifestyle in Clinton almost 50 years ago and were a huge part of the community there.   Mom was a volunteer in the elementary library, in the Order of the Royal Purple and the Girl Guide organization.  She also enjoyed her time working at the lookouts on fire watch.  Mom and Dad spent many years as park custodians at Green Lake, Big Bar Lake, Kelly Lake and Loon Lake.  She was an avid crafter and many of the fruits of her labors of love hang in many homes.

No formal service will be held at this time.  Cremation will take place and Marlene will be reunited with Clarke at one of their favorite spots in nature, overlooking the Fraser River.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the staff at the Cancer Ward in Kamloops, the care providers at Spintlum Lodge and the doctors and nurses at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in Lytton.
